This Privacy Policy explains what information PutFinder ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. PutFinder is an independent, solo-built research project. By using PutFinder you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — when you sign in with Google or an email magic link, we receive your email address (and, for Google sign-in, your basic profile such as name, as provided by Google).
- Usage data you create — such as the tickers you star into a watchlist, tickers you analyze, and your preferences (e.g. language).
- Technical data — a session cookie to keep you signed in, plus standard server logs (IP address, request paths, timestamps, user-agent) used for operating and securing the Service.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we do not ask for or store brokerage credentials or financial-account details.
2. How we use information
- to provide, maintain, and secure the Service and to authenticate you;
- to personalize features (watchlist, analyze history, preferences);
- to send you service-related email (for example, a sign-in link, or an operator notification of a new registration);
- to monitor, debug, prevent abuse, and improve the Service.
3. Cookies
We use a single first-party session cookie ("pf_daily") to keep you signed in after you authenticate. It is essential to the signed-in experience. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. An anti-abuse challenge (Cloudflare Turnstile) may run on certain forms.
4. Service providers we use
We rely on the following third parties to run the Service:
- Supabase — authentication and database (stores your account and app data);
- Google — "Sign in with Google" (subject to Google's own Privacy Policy);
- Render — application hosting;
- Cloudflare — content delivery, the marketing site, and anti-abuse (Turnstile);
- Resend — transactional email delivery;
- a market-data provider — options-chain and price data that powers the screener.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers above to operate the Service, or where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of PutFinder, our users, or the public.
6. Data retention
We keep your account information and app data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time (see "Your choices and rights"). Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging.
7. Your choices and rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing contact@putfinder.com. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights over your personal data; we will honor applicable rights. You can also stop using the Service and sign out at any time.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (for example, authentication is handled by our identity provider and access is limited). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International users
PutFinder is operated from the United States and information is processed there. By using the Service you understand that your information may be processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be reflected here.
